C-Lo 09/03/2009 11:23 AM | being from California, ican assure you that a quake of 4.0 or higher for about 30 seconds would cause millions of dollars of structual damage...be sure to check your Home owners insurance to see if you're covered. Don't be suprised of we get more earthquakes more frecuently. The best thing to do to prepare for one an earthquake is to have plenty of non-perishable items stocked. Such as canned food, for both you and your pets(I have two), plenty of drinking water, a well equipped first-aid kit, Flashlights(prefferably L.E.D.) those last forever and you'll save money on batteries, candles and matches. oh and don't forget the can opener... :) hope this helps. |
Hector 05/29/2009 08:34 AM | That would be crazy. I dont think we are in such a large fault like they are though. But yeah, i dont think the city could handle it. But how could we get prepared? |
Marjar 05/25/2009 01:48 AM | Which sounds like to me that we are going to get nailed like California did, unexpected. Our buildings nor our houses were built to with stand a significantly higher mark on the scale. Can you say as citizens of our City that you honestly think our police and firemen can handle it all by themselves. I don't think so, we as citizens need to start preparing ourselves for that kind catastrophe. We cant expect them to do it all by themselves, which I assure you they probably would but its our city. We as citizens need to step up to the plate and get prepared. |
Mary 05/19/2009 09:46 PM | The earthquake, centered approximately four miles south of Euless and 18 miles west of Dallas, was the first recorded earthquake since October 31, 2008, when a 3.0 magnitude quake centered four miles south of Irving rocked local residents. Even though Texas is not considered earthquake country there is a minor fault line that runs through the Dallas area. |
