Duties include supervising the staff and activities of the environmental compliance division, assuring compliance with all regulations for the pretreatment, storm and drinking water, FOG (fats -oils-greases) and cross-connection programs; developing and implementing plans for monitoring various water quality systems; conducting inspections in all areas of water quality; evaluating Municipal Setting Designation (MSD) applications; investigating environmental complaints and overseeing corrective action; assuring appropriate response to sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) and hazardous material spills; assisting with the preparation and administration of the division budget; preparing technical and legal reports; and responding to citizen inquiries. A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in environmental science, biology, microbiology, chemistry or a related science field and three years of relevant experience, as well as one year supervisory experience, required. Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Class C Texas driver’s license. Must also have TCEQ Class C Water and Class II Wastewater licenses.
