Duties include inspecting food establishments, care facilities and swimming pools to ensure compliance with city, state and federal codes and regulations; responding to questions and complaints from the public and City staff regarding public health concerns; issuing citations and negotiating solutions for compliance; preparing cases and testifying in court; developing and recommending ordinance revisions; completing reports; and maintaining records. A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a related science field and two years of relevant experience required. Must have an appropriate Texas driver’s license and have, or be able to obtain within a specified timeframe, Sanitarian and Code Enforcement Officer’s licenses and National Pool Operator certification.
