Position Summary:
The Performance Management Financial Analyst supports the EFH performance management reporting process and the business services planning process. The senior analyst will help identify and implement processes to enhance the service company’s ability to plan for and manage the service providers on an integrated basis. The analyst will be a member of a small team that works closely with the business units and other functional groups to build an understanding of Business Services.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 
In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent:

o        Assists in the coordination and development of long range plans and budgets for the Business Services Organization at EFH

o        Leads in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual performance management reporting for EFH leadership, BOD and investor group

o        Works with service provider management to track performance against Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)

o        Prepares the management reporting, forecasting, variance analyses and other performance management responsibilities for Business Services

o        Identifies and implements opportunities to improve existing processes

o        Provides ad hoc query responses for management questions.
 
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
 Minimal background and knowledge requirements:

     
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of directly related work experience preferred
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be team oriented
 Preferred background and knowledge requirements:

     
  • Integrated planning and analysis background at a major oil and gas company or major electric and gas utility coupled with some consulting.
NECESSARY SKILLS - For this position the following skills and abilities must be demonstrated at a proficient level:

 
o     Must be able to solve problems/situation requiring constructive thinking/imaginative approaches. Work guided by clearly defined objectives and functional direction. Analysis/judgment required for making decisions/recommendations. Functional practices applied to daily activities.

 
o     Must be able to review budgets and financial plans submitted by lines of business, and provide constructive feedback to businesses if they are not in line with the stated goals and strategy of EFH as a whole.

 
o     Flexibility, someone who is adaptive to frequent change in priorities, organization and strategy; schedule must be flexible to overtime and deadlines with short lead time.

 
o     Initiative; originates productive actions without specific instructions, generates new ideas, approaches to meet customer or business needs.

 
o     Must have accomplished verbal/written communication and/or math skills, and the ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex documents; analyze and resolve difficult human, technical or administrative problems; and interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters that often require coordination of activity across organizational functions.(e.g. coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, coordination of budget applications across EFH businesses.)

 
o     Must be able to work in an open office environment and maintain occasional long, irregular hours.

 
o     Proficient with PC applications, such as MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Word) and other planning software.
