Cardwell Entrepreneur Excels at National Competition

Irving, Texas. October 16, 2017

Congratulations to Cardwell Career Preparatory senior Clifton Jackson! Last week, Clifton competed in the 2017 National Youth Entrepreneur Challenge after creating a three-in-one tool for electricians. His invention, the CWS Pliers, is designed to increase job efficiency and workplace safety by reducing the number of times an electrician switches tools. Having excelled in the regional round, Clifton joined 41 young entrepreneurs in New York City for a chance to present their products at the annual contest hosted by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Clifton took the stage and pitched his business plan to a panel of expert judges in hopes of funding an electrical class. He made an extraordinary run, advancing as one of three national finalists and winning $5,000 as runner-up. To watch the elevator pitch that propelled him all the way to the Big Apple, click here.
