Future Projects, Initiatives Presented at Citywide Town Hall

Members of the Irving City Council held a citywide Town Hall Meeting Nov. 13 at the Northwest Park Recreation Center to discuss ongoing and future city projects and initiatives. Attendees learned about topics designed to improve the lives of those who live, work and play in Irving.

Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget

An overview of the city's current fiscal year budget.

Road and Trail Projects Update

A report on roadway projects, such as South Nursery Road and Hawthorne and Abelia streets; trail projects, including the Northern Campion Trail Extension and the Delaware Creek Connector Trail; and the first year of the five-year Road to the Future program.

State Highway (SH) 183 Project Update

Work completed to date on the SH 183 portion of TxDOT's Midtown Express project.

Specific projects that are included in the first year of the $100 million, five-year investment in Irving's infrastructure.

On-, Off-Street Parking in Irving's Residential Neighborhoods

A review of city ordinances concerning vehicle parking and cited how parking affects city vehicles trying to service neighborhoods, such as trash pickup, road repair and emergency services. 

Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan

The recommendations of the 2017 Comprehensive Plan to create a new Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan, which was last updated in 2000.

City of Irving Development Plan

New commercial, residential and retail development happening around the city, including hotels, office space and eateries.
