Travis Teacher Contributes to Biomolecular Research

Irving, Texas. December 12, 2017 –

Stephanie Harris, a science teacher at Travis Middle School, has been recognized by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center STARS Program for her participation in biomolecular research. Her work focused on a topic of cell differentiation during embryonic development. For the past two summers, Stephanie has worked as a research assistant in Dr. Jian Xu’s research lab. The results of her work will soon be published in the Nature Communication science journal. Stephanie will travel to San Diego in January to present her findings at a national conference.
