Irving City Officials Issue Warning on Fake Community Water Test

Irving City Officials Issue Warning on Fake Community Water Test

Irving, Texas. July 31, 2018

It has come to the attention of the City of Irving Water Utilities Department that several residents have found materials left at their doors requesting they provide a water sample for a “Community Water Test.” The Water Utilities Department has not endorsed and is not participating in this testing effort. The materials were left by a third-party company that has no affiliation with the City of Irving. The city tests the water in its system daily to ensure that it meets all state and federal standards.

As a reminder, fliers, door hangers or correspondence of any kind left or mailed by a city department or employee will be clearly printed with the City of Irving logo. Similarly, should a city employee or crew be working around your home or neighborhood, they will have a city-issued badge and drive a vehicle bearing the city logo.

Residents can verify materials they suspect were left by the City of Irving by calling (972) 721-2600.
