City Flushing Fire Hydrants

Irving, Texas. September 29, 2018

City employees will flush all public fire hydrants throughout Irving. The flushing of fire hydrants is necessary to help guarantee public health and safety.

Irving firefighters perform flushing to check for proper water flow and pressure and to ensure that hydrants will work properly in case of an emergency. In addition, state and federal agencies require water utilities workers to flush fire hydrants to circulate water and to remove rust and other debris from the lines. This process helps ensure fresh, quality water arrives at each house and business.
