Several Irving ISD advanced orchestra students joined the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving (NPOI) in concert as it presented “Freedom and Destiny” yesterday. Students played alongside regular members, performing two classical pieces by Beethoven and Edvard Grieg. The concert also featured MacArthur School senior and violinist Marshall Baldwin as the NPOI 2019 Richard Giangiulio youth concerto competition winner. Along with the guest solo performance, Baldwin will receive a $500 scholarship for the honor.
