Fritz Park Petting Farm Open Through July 31

The Fritz Park Petting Farm offers an ideal setting for people of all ages to learn about farming and farm animals. For more than 30 years, Fritz Park has been the place to experience farm life, including hands-on contact with an assortment of animals — from sheep and goats to chickens, horses, ducks and rabbits.

The petting farm, located at 312 Vilbig St., will be open through July 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The petting farm is closed on Mondays. There is no admission charge for visitors to the farm. The entrance is located at the Red Barn in the center of the park. 

A birthday room is available for parties of 10 to 12 children from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Cost is $25. Call (972) 721-2501 for a list of available dates. Party reservations must be made in person at the Parks and Recreation office at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. To plan a special Pony Party, call (972) 579-1319.
