Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Irving Unveils Renovated Lobby and Expanded Medical Services

Irving, Texas. November 12, 2019 –

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center—Irving unveiled on Nov. 6 the first phase of its $150 million expansion and renovation project.

The updates include a contemporary glass atrium as the lobby, expanded surgical services and renovated women’s healthcare services, according to the medical center.

“In 2015 ... we finished all of the work on the emergency department,” said Cindy Schamp, president of the medical center. “And now we have reframed the entire front of the institution. So in 2015, after finishing that, [the emergency center] entered a joint planning process, and out of that gave birth to project Renaissance.”

Project Renaissance refers to the multi-phase project. The next phase will add a six-story patient tower, Schamp said. The tower is expected to open in 2021.

The recently completed surgical services expansion includes a new cardiovascular suite, according to a company news release. The women’s healthcare services renovation includes upgraded antepartum and postpartum patient rooms.
