Two Women Stabbed in Alvarado; Suspect Arrested on Assault Charges

Two women were hospitalized after being stabbed Thursday night in Alvarado. Around 10:45 p.m. on March 13, 2025, officers from the Alvarado Police Department responded to the 5600 block of US Highway 67 regarding a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found two female victims suffering from stab wounds. Both were transported to a hospital, with one victim sustaining life-threatening injuries. Both have since been stabilized and are recovering.

The suspect, identified as Leonardo Morales, fled the scene but was later captured with the assistance of local agencies. Alvarado Police Department Criminal Investigators were called to assist with the investigation.

Morales was booked into the Johnson County Jail on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, with one charge classified as family violence. His bond is set at $2 million.
