The Arlington Police Department is investigating a collision on Monday, April 14, 2025, that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old motorcyclist.
Officers responded to the intersection of S. Cooper Street and Inwood Drive at approximately 3:08 p.m. to investigate the crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Upon arrival, they discovered the 18-year-old male motorcycle rider lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Cooper Street and collided with the rear of a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck. The pickup was in the northbound lanes of Cooper Street and was in the process of turning left onto Inwood Drive. The impact caused the motorcycle rider to be ejected from his bike.
Witnesses at the scene told investigators that the motorcycle rider was observed lane splitting and driving recklessly in the moments leading up to the collision. Police have not ruled out speed as a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation. Authorities have stated that she is not currently facing any criminal charges related to the crash and was not injured.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased as 18-year-old Michael Phu Alquisira of Arlington. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
