On Monday, December 1, 2025, Dallas Police responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of West Camp Wisdom Road in the Redbird neighborhood at approximately 1:10 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that 21-year-old Marlon Lawrence shot 42-year-old Billy Brightman. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel arrived on scene and pronounced Brightman deceased. Lawrence was apprehended at the location and later formally arrested and charged with murder.
