A Tarrant County jury has found 36-year-old Darius Romale Omar Brown guilty of murder and sentenced him to 15 years in prison for a 2022 fatal shooting in Arlington.
The conviction stems from the August 26, 2022 shooting death of 40-year-old Donald Hunt at an apartment on Cypress Club Drive. According to trial testimony, Hunt had been involved in a physical altercation earlier that day with Brown’s sister.
Prosecutors said Brown later arrived at the apartment, confronted Hunt, and the argument escalated. Brown then shot Hunt and fled the scene.
Arlington Police homicide detectives led the investigation. Brown was arrested about a week later by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Samantha Fant and Jeanne Truglio.
