Ranchview’s swimming and diving team officially opened the season Thursday, October 18th at home, hosting Prosper with the other C-FB high schools. Although Prosper won quite handily on points, the Wolves produced some outstanding performances this early in the 5-month competition season. Highlights include two victories from senior Sinjin Venegas in the 200 and 100 Free, as well as the boys 200 Free Relay featuring Venegas, Kazuomi Motoike, Eric Arumugam and newcomer Yooung Jeon that smashed the school record by 3 seconds. Motoike also won the 100 Back. On the girls side, Sarah Rovi was the top swimmer, earning third in the 100 Free and second in the 100 Back. Rovi, Motoike, Venegas and Maddy Worrell are the team co-captains this year. For his performances, Venegas was named the team’s first “Athlete of the Week”..
