Irving, Texas. January 23, 2013 –
The City of Irving has been chosen to host the $1.3 million North Texas LPGA Shootout April 25-28 at the Las Colinas Country Club, 4400 N. O’Connor Road.
This will be the first time the tour has played in North Texas in 22 years. It will deliver a full-field of 144 female golfers, playing 72 holes of stroke play.
The North Texas LPGA Shootout also will provide a unique opportunity for amateur players in the area to earn spots in the field through qualifying. Tournament exemptions will be awarded to the winners of a high school and collegiate “shootout” played in advance of the event, giving up-and-coming talent in the area an opportunity to tee it up with the world’s best golfers. Tournament proceeds will benefit the Nexus Club, which primarily supports and raises funds for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf in North Texas.
