BY IRVING WEEKLY STAFFIrving, Texas. January 23, 2013 – As part of a $125,000 grant from the Texas Education Agency, The Irving ISD technology department will be giving away wireless hotspots called” MiFi’s” to qualifying families who do not have internet access. Through the TEA’s Technology Lending Program, Nimitz High School students will be able to start picking up their MiFi’s tomorrow, January 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Nimitz High School Library. Other dates of January 28 and February 5 are also scheduled. The district has about 300 Mifi units to give out and will plan future distribution dates at the other highs schools.
