February is American Heart Month, and unfortunately, most of us know someone who has had heart disease or a stroke. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States; one in every three deaths is from heart disease and stroke, equaling 2,200 deaths per day. Everest College is proud to be a part of the healthy hearts solution in North Texas by offering free blood pressure checks.

Who: DFW Everest College campus instructors and students will provide free blood pressure checks for Irving Mall shoppers.
Why: Helping to keep our Texas communities healthy and prevent heart disease by raising awareness.
On Saturday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., faculty and students from Everest College’s
medical assistant program will be on hand to provide free blood pressure checks to Irving Mall guests.
Everest College campuses in the DFW area offer a variety of programs for full-time and part-time students, including accounting, business, criminal justice, electrical technician, heating ventilation and air conditioning, medical administrative assistant, medical assistant, medical insurance billing and coding, pharmacy technician and paralegal.
