BY IRVING WEEKLY STAFFIrving, Texas. February 26, 2013 – A great effort by McKensie Goodman led Irving to an 11-8 win in six innings over Graham on Thursday at Azle High School. McKensie Goodman rocked Graham with two home runs. McKensie Goodman went 4-4 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. McKensie Goodman homered in the first and fifth innings. Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 19 runs and 16 hits, including eight extra base hits. Irving hit four home runs in the win. Home runs for Irving came when Madison Goodman homered in the second and third innings and McKensie Goodman homered in the first and fifth innings. The lead stayed with Irving after the first, when it scored two runs on a two-run home run by McKensie Goodman. One run in the bottom of the second helped Graham close its deficit to 5-1. An error triggered Graham's comeback. C Lozowski struck out to end the Graham threat. Irving piled on four more runs in the top of the third. Brenda Chairez kicked things off with a single, bringing home Melissa Hantelmann. That was followed up by Madison Goodman's three-run blast, scoring Morgan Wang and Chairez. Graham scored four runs in the bottom of the third to cut its deficit to four. A two-run home run by M Nantz, a solo home run by K Hamm, and an RBI single by J Wilson gave Graham life. McKensie Goodman ended the inning by getting Lozowski to fly out. Irving pushed across one run in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Irving scored on a bases loaded walk by Hamm, scoring McKensie Goodman. After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the fourth, Graham faced just a 10-8 deficit.
