Four Seasons presents check to Baylor Irving cancer center

Thanks to the Four Seasons, Baylor Irving Cancer Center now has: a full field digital mammography machine, linear accelerator used in radiation therapy, stereotactic breast imaging machine, BAT system, prima ultrasound unit, CAD unit, breast patient navigator. And the list goes on…In all, Four Seasons has given more than $2.5 million to the Cancer Center from its Cool October events. Since 1992, every advancement at the Cancer Center has been funded either fully or in part by proceeds from the hotel’s fundraising events.

Four Seasons general manager Luis Argote presented the latest donation–a check for $200,000–to hospital officials at a brief ceremony Wednesday in the Cancer Center’s lobby. That amount is $80,000 more than the goal of $120,000. Among those who spoke at the event were Angela Enright, formerly of the Four Seasons who started the Cool October events; Jennifer Legere, formerly of the Irving Healthcare Foundation and now with Komen for the Cure Dallas County; John Drake of the Irving Healthcare Foundation; and Cindy Schamp, president of Baylor Irving. Following the presentation, guests enjoyed cake and punch.
