As part of the Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour, Irving will host the Irving Tennis Classic. The tournament will be held March 10–16. This national tennis event will be held at the Four Seasons Resort and Club at Las Colinas, and will feature some of the top names on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour with $125,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Held between the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Calif., and the Sony Open Tennis in Miami, the Irving Tennis Classic is an international level challenger event governed by ATP.
The tournament, which will kick off March 10 with qualifying rounds, will feature a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw. Night matches will be held March 11–14. Eight professional tennis clubs throughout the region will showcase their pros in a short format match March 15, and on March 16 (also known as Championship Sunday), Southern Methodist University’s men’s tennis team will compete in a college dual match.
