Crawford Electric Supply Company will relocate to Irving

The Irving City Council unanimously approved an incentive package that will consolidate the Dallas and Haltom City distribution operations of Crawford Electric Supply Company and relocate the company to Irving.

Crawford Electric Supply opened in Dallas in 1990 and has 22 locations. Crawford is an electrical and industrial distributor with annual sales of more than $750 million.

“Crawford Electric and our associates are excited to be an integral part of the City of Irving,” said David Jackson, vice president of business development for Crawford. “We believe the addition of our distribution center will add long-term value to the business landscape for the City of Irving and Crawford Electric will be an exceptional asset to the Irving economic community.”

Crawford will construct and occupy a build-to-suite 160,000 square foot building at the southwest corner of Gateway Drive and Westridge Circle. Crawford’s relocation will bring 130 new jobs to Irving and generate $9 million in new tax revenue.

“The relocation of Crawford Electric Supply further underscores Irving’s commitment to industry diversification. We are home to a powerhouse of industries including high tech, energy, aviation, health care and distribution operations,” said Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne. “We welcome Crawford Electric Supply to our growing list of successful business partners.”

The City of Irving and Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce have been working with Crawford’s commercial real estate representative, Clint McCullah of Transwestern Development Company, since October 2013.

Irving Chamber’s Interim Vice President of Economic Development, Beth Bowman, said Crawford’s relocation to Irving is a significant addition to the city and its growing tax base.

“With Irving City Council’s approval of Crawford’s relocation, Irving continues to showcase its pro-business atmosphere,” Bowman said.“Crawford’s new facility and its associated taxable value to Irving, and 130 new jobs in the city, with potential to hire another 20 to 30 employees, are truly an asset to Irving and our economy.”

Crawford will construct and occupy the new building in Irving by December 2016.
