Irving ISD will host MIRD Fair, the largest middle school video game programming competition in the state of Texas, on May 19. Seventh- and eighth-grade students from Irving ISD's eight middle schools will compete against each other with their programming skills to see who can make the best video game. Designed to inspire students to pursue careers in computer programming and to improve their math skills through the use of computational logic, the MIRD Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, May 19 at Singley Academy, 4601 N. MacArthur Blvd.
