These talented youths are given the opportunity to supplement and enhance their music education by learning symphonic literature through high-quality orchestral and ensemble training with the very best in the field. The Lone Star Youth Orchestra is one component of the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra’s many educational initiatives. Under the direction of Robert Carter Austin, the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra has a record of excellent artistic presentation and a strong commitment to music education.
After two years of creative planning, the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra formed the Lone Star Youth Orchestra (LSYO) in 1999.
