Kroger completes, opens expanded section at MacArthur Park Shopping Center

Today, Kroger announced the opening of the expanded section of its Las Colinas store at the MacArthur Park Shopping Center, 7505 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. The location is the largest Kroger store in Irving.

The new section features a Kitchen Place with gourmet kitchen accessories, place settings, flatware, glasses and everyday kitchen essentials.  Also relocated to the expanded area is the meat market, bakery, nutrition, Murray’s Cheese shoppe, the produce department and floral.

Kroger Co. acquired the former Barnes and Noble location for its expansion in November 2013. The company invested $13 million in the remodel and expansion of the Las Colinas location. Kroger has already completed the expansion of its popular fuel center, adding eight more fueling stations to the center at MacArthur Park.

Gary Huddleston, director of consumer affairs for Kroger Co., said the store added more than 36,000 square-feet to the location, bringing the expansion to 102,000 square-feet. Kroger expects to add 50 jobs to the location.

The remainder of the store will undergo a face lift.  The store remodel is scheduled to be completed in early January.
