DFW Humane Society’s Black Collar Affair 2014 all about Canines, Felines and Cuisine

Oct. 30, 2014 (Irving, Texas) – The 14th Annual Black Collar Affair is moving to a new day, a new location and taking on a tastier new approach. The event, themed “Canines, Felines and Cuisine” is slated for Sunday, Nov. 9 at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas.

This year’s event will feature 13 area restaurants providing samples to an approximated 300 attendees. Restaurants include So&Sos, The Rustic/Mutts Cantina, Mozzarella Company with Empire Bakery, Breadwinners, Rex’s Seafood, Lockhart Smokehouse, i Fratelli Italian Ristorante, La Margarita, Midori Sushi, F n G Eats, Next Woodfire Grill, PartyMakers Catering and Café on the Green under the direction of Four Seasons Resort and Club’s Executive Chef Christof Syré.

A specialty cocktail is being created by Serralles and Reddy Ice is providing a one-of-a-kind, logo’d ice sculpture for the event. Renowned lounge singer Vince Martinez will serve as the evening’s entertainer. All proceeds benefit the DFW Humane Society (DFWHS)

“We are really excited about this year’s event, said Black Collar Affair chair Diana Pfaff.

“The graciousness of the Four Seasons and Chef Christof to allow us to bring in outside restaurants will help raise more money than ever before for the area’s most overlooked homeless population, that being unwanted pets.

“Aside from all the great food and drink tastings, we have exciting entertainment and activities lined up. Plus, anytime an event is held at the Four Seasons, you know it’s going to be a flawless experience.”

A no-kill shelter, the DFWHS is dedicated to giving homeless and unwanted pets a second chance in life through adoption. At any given time, the Humane Society houses between 80-100 animals, and takes in owner-released pets from around DFW and other areas in need.

“The DFW Humane Society receives no state or federal funding and depends solely on donations, said DFWHS Board President Kass Prince. “Events such as the Black Collar Affair help to raise contributions needed to operate our shelter and provide care for our animals.”

A casual-attire event despite its title, the Black Collar Affair starts at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9 at Four Seasons Resort and Club. Tickets and sponsorships are available at dfwhumane.com or by calling 972-721-7788.
