The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has named University of Dallas soccer coach Angelina Pane the West Region Coach-of-the-Year. Pane was one of the very few Division III coaches to receive this honor for their respective regions.
Pane came to UD from Ottawa University in Kansas in March 2013. This season, she guided the Lady Crusaders to their best record in four seasons of affiliation with the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. They went 7-4-1 and claimed the third-seed to the conference tournament. They were able to advance to the semifinals before falling 1-0 to the second-seed, Texas Lutheran University.
In two campaigns at UD, Pane has led the women’s soccer team to a 17-23-1 record overall.
“Receiving this award was a humbling experience,” Pane said in a news release. “It truly belongs to the girls I had the honor of coaching. The 2014 season is the foundation upon which our program hopes to grow. I’m honored to have been part of such a special year here at UD, and I look forward to many more to come.”
