The unemployment rate for November in the City of Irving has dropped for the third consecutive month to 4.1%. This is a decline from 4.9% in August, and from a high of 5.4% in February of this year. The State of Texas’ Unemployment was 4.9%, while the national average was 5.8%.
The success of the Irving Economic Development Partnership helped contribute to this low unemployment rate. The Partnership created 3,207 new jobs during the 2014 fiscal year and retained nearly 2,600 jobs.
