Irving’s Crime Rate Drops in 2014.

Irving, Texas, January 15, 2015 – The crime rate in the City of Irving has declined for the tenth consecutive year. Reductions in the categories of Robbery, Burglary and Aggravated Assault contributed to a drop in the per capita crime rate from 30.37 per 1000 in 2013 to 30.00 per 1000 in 2014. Furthermore, the past ten years has seen a drop in overall crime by 46% and violent crime by 45%.


“To experience such a sustained reduction in crime over a 10 year period is simply phenomenal. Our police officers and the entire Irving community should be proud of what it has accomplished. We will continue to focus on flexible and lasting solutions as we partner with our community to maintain and even improve our record of safety and security” – Chief Larry Boyd.
