Subway Robbery Suspect Arrested

Irving, Texas, January 27 – The Irving Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a robbery suspect. On Thursday January 22, 2015, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at the Subway store located at 2301 North O’ Connor Road. The suspect entered the store acting as though he had a weapon in his jacket pocket. He approached the clerk and demanded cash from the register. The suspect ran away after the clerk yelled for another employee. Detectives believe he is the same suspect who committed a similar robbery at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Subway store located at 821 N. Beltline Road.


UPDATE: On 1/23/15, the Irving Police Department contacted local media outlets with a surveillance image from one of the robberies in an effort to identify the suspect. As a result of airing the image, detectives received tips as to the suspect’s identity. The information led to the positive identification of the suspect as the person responsible for the two robberies.


The suspect has been identified as 46-year-old Robert Lee McDaniel. He is currently in the Irving City Jail on two charges of robbery. The bond is set at $100,000 on the first charge and has yet to be arraigned on the second charge. A booking photo of McDaniel is attached.
