Irving, Texas. January 5, 2016 –
Irving ISD understands the importance of incorporating the business community into their schools through their Partners in Education program. This program connects partners, from small organizations to major corporations, to local schools for them to contribute to education at Irving ISD by sharing expertise and resources with one or more schools or with the district as a whole.
The Kroger Store on MacArthur and Sixth Street sits across from John Haley Elementary school and officially adopted the school through the Partners In Education program. Throughout the school year Kroger will help with donations as well as mentors to meet with the students.
As a supporter of the Irving Parks and Recreation Department’s events – like Irving Main Street Festival, Laughs by the Lake, and the Easter Egg Hunt – Kroger was honored with the Corporate Partner Award from the City of Irving for their commitment to the community.
Irving is home to approximately 10,000 companies, but only four companies are honored with this award each year.
