The Irving ISD held three different National Signing Day ceremonies. Recognized were 14 athletes from MacArthur, 4 from Irving and 4 from Nimitz.
After rumors that SMU had cut ties with Nimitz linebacker Noah Spears, he does end up signing with the Mustangs.
Spears was named first-team District 9-6A and rated number 4 in the state by Scout. He also notched 100 tackles, six for losses, one interception, three sacks and one forced fumble in 2015.
MacArthur running back, Artiss Henderson, signed with Illinois State (Redbirds). Henderson was first-team all-district selection and scored 17 touchdowns as a senior.
Matthew Price, a MacArthur Defensive Lineman, signed with Texas A&M Commerce. Price played two years at Mac; was a first-team all-district player in 2015 a member of the district championship team in 2014-15.
