The 2016 Youth Art Exhibit will feature the Irving Library System’s 2016 Big Read Selection, “Into the Beautiful North” by Luis Alberto Urrea. The theme for this year’s exhibit, “The Colors of Mexico,” is influenced by the Big Read Selection novel, which unfolds in Mexico.

Students who participated were encouraged to let their imaginations run wild as they developed artwork that reflected the literary setting of the library’s selected novel. Artwork was created by students in Irving.

Free Children’s Activities
For two days, kids can enjoy a large assortment of inflatable games to include: a giant slide, an obstacle course, bungee jumps and a rock climbing wall. A video game truck, balloon art, face painting and temporary tattoos also will be featured in the Kid’s Zone.
