With construction complete of Irving ISD's newest learning facility, the Elise Walker Outdoor Learning Center (OLC) hosted its first group of students today. Fifth graders from Brandenburg Elementary School spent the day learning at Irving ISD’s newest classroom -- both inside the new building and along the trails. In this "natural" classroom, students explored the five different types of ecosystems. The OLC is designed to give Irving ISD students hands-on experience while being immersed in nature. The school district will host the official dedication ceremony of the new facility and remember beloved teacher Elise Walker on Wednesday, November 2.
