Stipes Elementary School Celebrates 10 Years

BY IRVING WEEKLY STAFF

Irving, Texas. March 9, 2017

This year marks Stipes Elementary School’s 10th anniversary, and they commemorated the moment last week with their annual school photo and a special tree planting ceremony. The Stallions chose a red oak tree, which is known for its strength and resilience, to plant in front of the school as a symbol of 10 years of growing great minds. During the ceremony, the school’s namesake, Mrs. Margie Stipes, and former principal, Dr. Jackie Gorena, shared a few words. Ten teachers who have been with Stipes from the beginning were also recognized and did the honor of shoveling the first patch of soil. Photos from the event can be found on the district’s Photo Gallery.
