Comedy Giant Dave Chappelle and County Superstar Brad Paisley Kickoff Irving Music Factory Opening

Dallas-Fort Worth will soon have another music venue to visit in the suburbs. The long-awaited The Pavilion at Irving Music Factory is expected to open Labor Day Weekend.

Comedy icon Dave Chappelle will christen the venue on Friday, Sept. 1. For the Music Factory’s first musical event, country megastar Brad Paisley will headline the 8,000 seat amphitheater on Saturday, Sept. 2.

The concert venue is nestled in the middle of the $180 million development in Las Colinas on the northeast side of State Highway 114, just south of the Irving Convention Center.

Joining Paisley will be modern country up-and-coming hit makers Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant and Lindsay Ell. The country good times will roll into the following night when “Blue Collar” comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy perform on Sunday, Sept. 3.

The big names aren’t reserved for opening weekend: The venue will host shows from hair metal kings Scorpions, current alt-rock poster boys Young the Giant and appearances from ’90s radio titans Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20 and Counting Crows in the first few months of the venue’s existence.

If you don’t count sports arenas that sometimes host concerts (such as AT&T Stadium, American Airlines Center and the Cotton Bowl), and Irving Music Factory basically becomes the second-largest music-focused venue in north Texas, behind Starplex Pavilion. (That’s the venue formerly known as Gexa Energy Pavilion. And formerly a lot of other things.) With the May opening of The Colony’s Lava Cantina and its 1,000+ seat concert venue, it’s worth noting that previously empty areas of D-FW are filling up substantially.

Tickets for the announced shows at Irving Music Factory go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31 via Ticketmaster.

We’ll have much more to report on this venue as it gets closer to opening.
