Destination Imagination teams from Johnston Elementary School and Travis Middle School represented Irving ISD at Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenn., last week. Johnston’s “We Fell Up the Stairs” team rose to 11th out of 87 at the elementary level while Travis’ “In it Together” team ranked 40th out of 53 middle school teams. The international event featured a competitive tournament and interactive exhibits and workshops for approximately 1,400 teams from nearly 15 countries. Both teams made their appearance after advancing in state this April in the improvisation and engineering category.
