Store Dedicated to Teachers Opens for Business

Teachers will have access to a room full of supplies, thanks to the generosity of the Irving Schools Foundation (ISF) and other Partners in Education.

On August 15, a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening was held for the Community 2 Classroom (C2C) Store located at Crockett Middle School. The store is lined with shelves of school supplies and student uniforms that teachers can shop for by appointment at no personal cost.

Irving ISD Partner in Education Citi donated $9,000 to purchase supplies and fixtures for the store, and volunteers from the corporation helped set-up the store. Generous donations from Kroger and other local businesses and community members also helped stock the shelves with items collected through various summer school supply drives. Too often, teachers end up spending their own salaries on items for their students, an issue that the C2C Store hopes to tackle. With a mission to create access to critical supplies throughout the year, teachers and counselors can purchase classroom supplies, school supplies, backpacks, uniforms and undergarments at no charge.
