The Heritage Senior Center prepares lunches daily for Irving residents and visitors. The meals are served from 11:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday at 200 S. Jefferson St.
The lunches are free to those 60 and older, whether living in Irving or surrounding cities. However, there is a suggested donation of $1. Those who wish to partake in the free program must complete a senior center meal application and present an official photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport). Membership to the senior center is not required.
Lunch also is available to individuals younger than 60 for $6.25 per person.
Irving purchases the meals from the Visiting Nurse Association and is reimbursed through a grant from the Dallas County Area Agency on Aging. The program serves meals to more than 13,000 guests annually.
