The Nimitz High School Navy JROTC won the North Texas Regional Drill Meet held October 14 in Lewisville. With the win, Nimitz has earned a spot for the sixth consecutive year in the State Championship, to be held in February in College Station. At last week’s competition, Nimitz earned 2,960 points for first place grand champion among Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force schools. Irving High School earned 1,443 points for a sixth-place finish.

- Drill Category – 1st Place
- Armed Regulation Drill (Boys) – 2nd Place

- Unarmed Regulation Drill (Girls) – 3rd Place
- Academics (Navy only) – 3rd Place
