A Festival of Middle School Talent in Irving

Four Irving ISD middle schools came together for a night of bright lights and drama during the district’s annual One-Act Play Festival. After four stellar performances, Bowie and Crockett walked away with the Superior Award, while Houston and Johnson were honored with Excellent Awards. Other awards from the festival included:

  • Best Actor/Actress: Tyronne Gale and Sicily Osborne (Bowie)
  • All-Star Cast: Husein Faleih, Baylei Green and Alexandra Huffman (Houston); Leila Alashoor, Amanda Cardenas and Luz Olmos (Crockett); Yelitza Marcado, Natalia Martinez-Avalos and Brianna Pedraza (Johnson); Estrella Barrera, Jeff Gurley and Evan Smith (Bowie)
  • All-Star Tech: Vanesa Ceja for sound and directing (Crockett), Nolwen Ella for props and run crew (Houston), Katherine Mendoza for lighting and sound (Johnson) and Analise Rodriguez Huerta for stage management (Bowie)
  • Honorable Mention: Saugat Dhakal and Kendrick Manning (Houston); Annie Bettancourt, Kaiya Clark, Brandon Jimenez and Tania Leavy (Crockett); Ariel Ajeda, Mya Basulto, Cullen Caldwell, Sergio Carrillo and Salvador Diaz (Johnson); Amber Bustos, Itzy Carbajal, Alefiya Jafferji, Kristen Nguyen and Steven Nguyen (Bowie)
