Exciting news recently came to Jenny Anderson, principal of Bowie Middle School. After being nominated, Ms. Anderson was selected by Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) as a TMEA Distinguished Administrator. The honor is a state-level recognition for administrators who have been instrumental in preserving quality music education programs on their campus and in their district. The award comes from TMEA’s committee who applauded “Ms. Anderson and the administration team at Bowie [for supporting the school’s] Fine Arts programs.” The nomination essay submitted on her behalf expressed gratitude that “at every concert, an administrator is not only present but engaged, and the administrators give feedback and encouragement. Ms. Anderson listens to concerns, celebrates with us...and allows extended educational experiences.”
