Frost Fest Fun Returns to Irving

The City of Irving’s Frost Fest, a free winter festival presented by Whole Foods Market, returns this year to welcome rarely seen fluffy snow and an opportunity for fun activities.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 27 at Cimarron Park, 100 Cimarron Trail. Come enjoy the cool side of winter weather — without the freezing rain and slick roads.

The event includes:

  • A petting zoo with reindeer display.
  • Snow tubing hill, riders must be at least 42 inches tall.
  • A play area with fresh snow every 30 minutes.
  • Complimentary photo station provided by the Valley Ranch Association.
  • Skating on the festival rink (ice skates provided).
  • Train rides around the park.

During the event, residents can head inside Cimarron Park Recreation Center to sign up for an Irving Public Library card, as well as create winter crafts and enjoy a variety of story readings and puppet shows. Chef Pete will perform live ice sculpture demonstrations throughout the event. Seating is provided at the stage, where cold weather creations, such as a snowman, will be formed from blocks of ice.

New this year, visit the KERA Kids booth for fun activities, great information and the opportunity to meet popular children’s TV show character Nature Cat. Food will be available for purchase.

Admission and parking are free. Event parking is located at Ranchview High School, 8401 E. Valley Ranch Parkway. Complimentary ADA accessible shuttle service is provided.  For more information, visit IrvingEvents.org.
