Irving is 2018 Worst City for Recreation

With July being National Parks and Recreation Month and America’s largest cities investing over $7 billion on parks this past year, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2018's Best & Worst Cities for Recreation.

To highlight the benefits of recreational activities for consumers and economies across the country, WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 45 key indicators of recreation-friendliness. For each city, WalletHub examined the accessibility of entertainment and recreational facilities, the quality of parks and the weather.

Recreation in Irving (1=Best; 50=Avg.): 
70th – Spending on Parks per Capita
78th – Parkland as % of City Area
63rd – % of Population with Walkable Park Access
88th – Music Venues per Capita
94th – Tennis Courts per Capita
49th – Park Playgrounds per Capita
53rd – Swimming Pools per Capita
