Irving ISD and AEL Consortium Celebrate Graduates

Last month, 12 students from Irving ISD’s adult education and literacy (AEL) program were recognized after completing entrepreneurial programs in Fuel ED Hospitality and Tourism, STAHLS Clothing and Textiles, and Home Depot Home Improvement. The 12 joined fellow AEL students from the area at the Dallas Country AEL Consortium’s first graduation ceremony held June 30. The consortium, which is made up of AEL providers throughout Dallas County, partners with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas and serves as a cohort of local adults participating in educational training programs. The ceremony consisted of graduates from Dallas County Community College District, Richland College, Irving ISD and Richardson ISD who gained a training or high school equivalency certification. One Irving ISD graduate is already on the move, opening a new business as a STAHLS heat press entrepreneur just days after completing his coursework.
