Nimitz, Irving Future Educators Qualify for State

Irving, Texas. November 12, 2018

Congratulations to the nine Nimitz and Irving students who have advanced to state in the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) competition, following a strong showing at regionals last week. The students are:

Nimitz 
Jennifer Garcia - Impromptu Speaking, Impromptu Lesson Planning, and Children’s Literature K-3
Samantha Meza and Mikaela Jauregui - Teacher Created Materials (Elementary)
Camryn Franco and Brenda Rios - Project Visualize (Teaching)
Esmeralda Cruz - Interactive Bulletin Board (Elementary)
Zabdi Pina - Public Speaking and Teacher Created Materials (Secondary)

Irving 
Carol Ventura and Mercedes Lopez - Children’s Literature K-3

In addition, the Irving High School chapter of TAFE was elected President of Region 10 South. Because of this designation, the Irving Chapter of TAFE will host next year’s Region 10 South Conference.
