Many Irving ISD orchestra students are celebrating after excelling at the High School UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest on January 26. More than 30 musicians from Irving, MacArthur and Nimitz high schools will advance to state after earning a division one rating at the regional level. They will head to Austin in June and compete at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest (TSSEC).
