Irving District Spelling Bee Results Are In

Irving, Texas. February 1, 2019

Three Irving ISD students will represent the district at the Dallas County Spelling Bee after winning the district bee, held January 15. This year’s winner and alternate from each cluster are:

MacArthur Cluster

  • Winner: Alicia Kemo, sixth grader, Houston Middle School
  • Alternate: Julian Valdovinos, fifth grader, Brandenburg Elementary School

Irving Cluster

  • Winner: Taylor Hamilton, fifth grader, Lively Elementary School
  • Alternate: Aiden Hernandez, fifth grader, Gilbert Elementary School

Nimitz Cluster

  • Winner: Sreya Gireesh, fifth grader, Stipes Elementary School
  • Alternate: Bryant Newsome, seventh grader, Lamar Middle School

The Dallas County Spelling bee is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, at the Hall of State Auditorium at Fair Park (3939 Grand Ave., Dallas 75210). The winner from each cluster will compete, and the alternate will step in if the winner is unable to participate.
